The Brad Schoener Memorial Fund provides arts education experiences that help build responsible students who grow into outward-focused adults engaged in strengthening their communities. Since 2013, the Schoener Fund has brought high-quality and enriching music education programs to Upper Darby children through our MusicMan Academy. This seven-week summer program for school-aged children consists of workshops located throughout Upper Darby that offer instruction in a variety of musical instruments at all skill levels, and is taught by experienced teaching artists.
BIRTHDAY BENEFIT BASH!
SEPTEMBER 29, 2020
Don’t miss our virtual fundraiser – celebrating the birthday of Upper Darby Music Man!
Our world may have changed from the way it was a few months ago… but the Schoener Fund’s devotion to music education in Upper Darby has NOT! On September 29th, Brad Schoener would have celebrated his 58th Birthday. So since we couldn’t hold our annual Schoener 5K or Music Festival this past spring, we thought… what better way to celebrate Brad’s influence on the Upper Darby community than with a virtual Birthday Benefit BASH to keep Brad’s wishes coming true!
The mission of the Brad Schoener Memorial Fund is to support the musical abilities and aspirations of instrumental music students in the Upper Darby School District through the funding of instruments, instruction, and experiences for interested and talented students who might not otherwise have the opportunities due to personal circumstances.
Brad had hoped to accomplish three goals with this fund:
- provide lessons for talented students who may not be able to afford them
- provide instruments for all elementary students who have the desire to learn
- establish a summer music camp for elementary students
